Today, The CineVeliz Film Company, operated by Pablo Véliz, has received numerous awards including the prestigious official selection to the 2006 Sundance Film Festival, The Santa Barbara International film Festival, SXSW, Denver ChicanIndie, along others, with their award winning and first feature film "La Tragedia de Macario".  The company is proud to have created 6 feature films, 5 of which have US and international distribution, in the impressive short time of 5 years. CineVeliz now continues to drive the film industry in San Antonio and plans to create more feature films in the future. Pablo Veliz

PABLO VELIZ. Writer and Director Pablo Veliz graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a degree in communication. At age 22, Véliz wrote, directed, produced, and edited his first feature film, La Tragedia de Macario, which was selected in the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and several other prestigious festivals. Later that year, Laguna Films in Los Angeles acquired the award winning film for North and South American distribution. Today, Veliz is recognized as a promising director from San Antonio and as a leader in the community of cinema bringing jobs for both cast and crew with a constant and impressive production of feature films. Victor Agustin


VICTOR AGUSTIN. Victor is one of the founding members of the CineVeliz Production Company. His career with CineVeliz started as an actor in the award winning film "La Tragedia de Macario" playing the role of Felipe, Macario's best friend. Since then, he has helped produce the 5 feature films today as well as numerous productions including commercial spots, TV pilots, and music videos. Victor plans to continue the legacy and to pave the way along with the senior staff for CineVeliz in its ongoing contribution to the film community in Texas.

   

Dago Patlan

DAGOBERTO PATLAN. Mr. Patlán comes to us from the film and television industry.  He has worked in television at PBS and also is an independent filmmaker. He has worked sound with CineVeliz on five feature films; La Tragedia de Macario, which was screened at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival, “Clemente” which recently acquired US distribution, “7 Kilos” which is in the Laguna Pictures Pilot, "Double Dagger", and our current film titled "The Boys of Ghost Town". Mr. Patlán has also produced the television series “State of the Art with Michael Mehl” as well as the KLRN documentary series “Fresh Cut.”   When not working he is busy writing the seminal work, “782 Things You Can Do with a VW and a Spatula.”

   

Douglas Edward

DOUGLAS EDWARD. Douglas is a festival award-winning composer whose music has supported many films that have screened at international festivals, including the RealHeART Film Festival in Toronto, the Hollywood HD/DV Film Festival in Los Angeles, and the Cannes Film Market in Paris. Douglas received an award for Artistic Excellence in "Best Impact of Music in a Feature Film" from the 2008 Park City Film Music Festival, an award for "Best Movie Soundtrack" from the 2008 Bare Bones International Film Festival, and the Columbine Award for "Best Film Score" from the 2008 Moondance International Film Festival. Kiko Martinez from the S.A. Current had this to say about one of his films, "The best thing about the film - hands down - is the fantastic score composed by Douglas Edward".
